The Beauty of Abhyas Yoga E-mail

by Swami Radhanandaji (based on Lord Buddha's Teachings)

The bliss of a spiritual life is attainable by everyone who walks along the path of Abhyasa Yoga. He who cleaves to lust and greed of wealth better cast it away than allow his heart to be poisoned by it. But he who does not cleave to lust and greed of wealth, though possessing riches, and uses them rightly will be blessed to society.

It is not life, wealth, and power that enslaves men but clinging to life, wealth, and power that enslaves men.

A man who retires from the world in order to lead a life of leisure will have no gain, for a life of indolence is an abomination, and lack of energy to be despised.

Abhyasayoga does not require a man to go into homelessness or to redesign the world, unless he feels called upon to do so, like Buddha, Jesus, Shankara, Mirabai, Shree Ramakrishna, and Mahatma Gandhi, etc. Abyasayoga requires every man to free himself from the illusion of egotism, to cleanse his heart, to give up his thirst for pleasures, and lead a life of righteousness!

And whatever may be the profession, duty, or ashram in life, let them put their whole heart into the task, let them be diligent and energetic, and if they are like a lotus (Gita-5:10), which although grows in the water yet remains untouched by the water; if they struggle in life without cherishing envy, jealousy, or hatred; iif they live in the world not a selfish but a life of Truth, then surely Abhyasa Yoga will bring joy, peace, and bliss to dwell in their minds eternally.

"Brothers and Sisters,You are my lawful sons and daughters in faith, begotten by the word of my mouth. Children ought not to trample under foot the counsel given them by their father; do you henceforth follow my admonition."
