Meera Ko Prabhu Sachi Dasi Banao - Lord, Make Mira Your True Servant E-mail
 Bhajan11

  1. O Beloved Lord! Make Mira your true servant. Help me free myself from the evil and worthless worldly dealings and relationships.
  2. Whenever I think and use too much of my intelligence, I lose wisdom or power of discrimination between right and wrong.
  3. Oh! Oh! How pathetic! There is nothing that belongs to me. I am dying helplessly, confused and sad. O Lord! Come quickly to my help (and save me from drowning in the ocean of samsar).
  4. Everyday I listen (read, think and meditate) to the religious discourses and books. I am also afraid of my vicious passionate mind.
  5. Always, I serve the saints and holy men and women. I engage my mind in remembering you through meditation.
  6. O Dear lord! To this servant of no value show the path of devotion (as you taught the gopis of Vrindavan, particularly Radhaji). Please make Mira your true servant.

Commentary:
Our sole business in this world should be to become a true servant, an instrument of the Lord as Mira did. That alone should be our goal. Whatever we undertake, we should remember that we are His/Her instrument and never act out of egoism, pride, lust greed, jealousy or possessiveness.
Life is a Yagna-sacrifice of our life for others and not for sacrificing others for our personal gain, lust, greed, name and fame as most religious preachers and worldly people do.

Mira's simple message addressed to herself is so simple and beautiful that not much superfluous commentary or explanation is required. May we listen in our heart to the message of this living Gita-Mira and may she bless us to walk in her footsteps, in spite of our weak and unstable legs.

Quotes

“Religion, like other sciences, requires you to gather facts, to see for yourself, and this is possible when you go beyond the knowledge which lies in the region of the five senses. Religious truths need verification by everyone. To see God is the one goal.” – Swami Vivekananda
