How can I avoid distractions and keep focused on my studies? E-mail

The mind can concentrate only on one thing at a time. For young adults studies must be the top priority and rest should be secondary. When your priorities shift, you create problems for yourself. This will be true later on in your life. The purpose of life is neither studies or marriage, money or pleasures. The basic purpose of life is to use it as a means to an end, i.e. Self Realization or Love Supreme.

We cannot be satisfied with toys alone. So sort out your purpose and the means for your goal and then follow the Gita to attain it. The Gita clearly states that the mind gets disturbed or distracted by lust, anger and greed, which are the three gates to hell. We can avoid them by moral and ethical living. This alone will provide you the joys of life. All other joys are like toys, which only provide temporary love and happiness.
