Why shouldn't we try drugs or smoking for ourselves rather than believe others? |

This question is full of ignorance, pride and arrogance. Certain things are obviously dangerous from mere observation. This is a dangerous experiment like playing with a cobra and experiencing its poisonous bite. It may become too late to learn from such actions. Even animals learn from observation. God has given us intellect, so be discriminative in experimenting with such drugs or addictions.
Gita (Ch. 2:62-63) teaches us that once you have a thought of lust or greed or any addiction, there is usually no stopping halfway. It simply leads to destruction. There are many good things in life to try or experiment. There are enough problems in life. Why knowingly create more problems?
No! If you are wise, don't do it. Suffering is a good teacher, but who likes suffering? Use your intellect and do not let this precious life you have attained after numerous births be wasted.
