"Thou of Infinite forms! Thou art the primal God of gods, the Ancient Being! Thou art the Supreme refuge (i.e. support) of the Universe. Thou art the Knower and the only one to be known. Thou art the Supreme Goal. By Thee is the Universe pervaded inside and out all the time under all conditions." -- Gita 11:38

This is a universal prayer that enlarges our view of God, who has no name, form, or color; who is beyond the constraints of space and time; and who is beyond the duality of gender. God is best described or felt in the form of Radha or Mirabai's pure love -- in the pure love of His devotees, or Gopis, whom He never abandons.

Unless our vision becomes broader and universal, we will stay far from the Real Truth. Freezing God in one form, place, time, or name only invites narrow mindedness and creates friction among the ignorant masses.

As beginners we may worship God in a limited form such as an Ishtadevata, but sooner or later we will have to surrender to only One, i. e. the infinite, immeasurable, all loving God. We will eventually be graced with a vision of the universal form as expressed in chapter 11 of the Gita. Let us love. Love in Truth will lead us to the Ultimate Joy of all joys.

“The same New Testament tells us that if God leads us into temptation, He also delivers us from evil. This is applicable only to those who do not, of their own accord, succumb to temptation. (Matthew 6:13).” – M.K. Gandhi
